Determination of Calcium Carbonate content in Blood Cockle Shell
Synthesis of MCP
Effect of Heating on Yield of MCP
- To study the effect of duration of heating on yield of MCP, heating was carried out for 30 min and 60 min
Analysis of Calcium and Phosphorus Content
- Dissolved 0.05 g of product synthesized in DI water and made up to 100 ml.
- Diluted the solution 200 times.
- Analyzed the calcium and phosphate content using a colorimeter
Evaluating potential of MCP as a plant fertilizer
- Germinate 60 Kang Kong (Ipomoea aquatica) seeds and let it grow for 2 weeks, watering it with DI water
- Chose 27 Kang Kong plants of similar height to conduct our experiment with
- Grow plants for 30 days and harvest them
- Measure for fresh weight, dry weight and height
